UK ballet dancers at local ballet school 2009

 

A number of ballet dancers from the UK recently spent a a week at the Brigitte Gauci Borda School, which they described as “an amazing opportunity”, especially since they go to work with world-renowned choreographer Terence Ethridge.

 

The dancers, Cara Searle, Robyn Green, Bryony Walker, Naomi Solomon and Rowena Barrett, said they were very impressed by the standard of the Maltese girls and the sheer number of senior dancers in the school. The girls have been invited to return to Malta to take part in the show.

 

l’s production of Swan Lake, due to take place on the 5th and 6th December at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta.

 

In the meantime, a group of students together with two dance teachers from the Brigitte Gauci Borda School of Ballet, Lynne Salomone Reynaud and Sue Vassallo attended the ‘World Dance Movement’ held in Castellana Grotte in Bari, Italy. Ms Vassallo won the Hip Hop Award while student Francesca Mifsud won a scholarship to attend next year’s course in Theatre Jazz.
